On February 4, 2019, the Jesuit Curia office conducted one day training on present tax and account related information for all the treasurers and accountants of our institutions in Kathamndu valley. It was given by our auditor Navaraj Thapalia and his team. Fr. Boby, Regional treasurer of Nepal Jesuits welcomed the resource person and began the programme with a brief introduction. There were fourteen participants who actively took part in the whole day programme. They were from St. Xavier’s schools, St. Xavier’s College, St. Ignatius Parish, Baniyatar, Social Service Center, Jawalkhel and NJSI, Bakhudole. The programme mainly focused on current issues of income tax and income tax acts of Nepal Government. The resource person, Mr. Navaraj explained the tax calculation, taxable and non-taxable income and expenses of NGOs, social services and educational institutions. The participants got a chance to raise questions and discuss the issues. The programme got over by 5:00 p.m in the evening. It was an opportunity to learn how to work technically, efficiently, effectively and creatively in the present system within a legal framework.
All the participants got a thorough knowledge about income tax, tax calculation, new income tax acts which would help them work efficiently as finance managers and accountants.
