Joint Schools Teachers Funfair

Fr. B. Rajasekaran

On the fine morning of March 1st, Sunday, an extraordinary event unfolded at St. Xavier’s Jawalakhel—a Joint School Staff Gathering that brought together six schools: St. Mary’s School, Don Bosco School, Rosebud School, Kathmandu University High School, St. Xavier’s Godavari, and the host school, St. Xavier’s Jawalakhel. With over 500 energetic teachers in attendance, the day was packed with laughter, dance, and, of course, some fierce musical chair competition.

The event kicked off with a rousing speech by the principal, emphasizing the power of collaboration and innovation in education. Soon after, each school showcased their hidden talents—yes, teachers can dance too! – in a cultural extravaganza that left everyone cheering.

Post-entertainment, the real fun began. Teachers were sorted into 10 teams, each named after a flower (because, obviously, educators help students bloom!). The games? Absolutely hilarious—crab races, balloon on air, and musical chairs that turned unexpectedly competitive. It was less about winning and more about surviving the chaos!

The day ended with a prize distribution and a grand banquet, ensuring that both bellies and hearts were full. Truly, a fun-filled, soul-nourishing day that left everyone looking forward to next year!
